Outlaw Enterprises headed to Pilot Knob Studs for 2022 breeding season

When you start with a big, strong, beautiful and correct prospect with solid conformation and a great mind, success follows.
That is exactly the case with AQHA and NSBA World Champion Outlaw Enterprise, a 2017 bay stallion, sired by Iron Enterprise and out of Lastminuteinvestment.

Bred by Marcie McClenon, of Dunnellon, Florida, Outlaw Enterprise (Cosmo) was purchased as a youngster by Ray Alderman, who sent him to Mark and Judy Zeitler to get started under saddle.
Mark and Judy worked “regular jobs” until 2004 when they started training horses professionally in Abrams, Wisconsin, near Green Bay. Each winter they move their operation to Lauren Danielson’s farm in Ocala, Florida. When Lauren spotted Cosmo she fell in love immediately.

“I asked about purchasing him and he was not immediately available, but I hung in there and was able to purchase him a short time later,” she said. “He’s just such an amazing horse. He has always had a great mind and great movement.”

Judy knew very early on that Cosmo had the potential to be a great Hunter Under Saddle performer. She says that his lope is his strong suit but he has always had that “it factor” so his job under saddle came easily.

“He was always very willing and easy to teach things to, so athletic and strong,” she recalled. “With both Ray and Lauren already in our barn, the ownership transition was seamless.”
And so did success in the show pen.

As just a 2-year-old, Cosmo captured his first World Championship title, in the 2-Year-Old Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle at the National Snaffle Bit Association World Championship Show.
He followed that up with another title in 2020 when he won the 3-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle Championship at the NSBA World Show.

But his greatest success, Judy says, came at the AQHA World Championship Show that November when he won the Level 3 Junior Hunter Under Saddle.

“That was special for him and for me,” she said. “Cosmo knows he’s pretty cool but he’s also always a gentleman.”
Outlaw Enterprise capped off the show season that year with a win in the 3-Year-Old Open Hunter Under Saddle at the Tom Powers Futurity in Ocala, Florida.

Then in early 2021 he was bred to a total of 53 mares.

“Some of the mares are really outstanding show mares with exceptional backgrounds,” Danielson said. “We expect he will pass his movement, good mind and physical presence to his foals.”

And that’s what is most important to Danielson.

“Our goal is to contribute to the industry and to produce outstanding individuals, who hopefully will make their mark in the show ring,” she said. “I think Cosmo will be an outstanding Hunter Under Saddle stallion and will help to improve the breed.”

Outlaw Enterprise will stand the 2022 breeding season at Pilot Knob Stud in Reddick, Florida, under the supervision of Mike Hay. His 2022 fee is $1,500. An early booking discount of $500 applies, making the fee $1,000 with a 2022 signed contract and a paid $500 non-refundable booking deposit before Dec. 31 (with the remainder to be paid in full when first shipment order is placed).

Outlaw Enterprise’s foals will be eligible for the NSBA, Premier Sires, Iowa Breeders and the Michigan Breeders.
Danielson was born in Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from the University of Florida. She attended JD Emory University School of Law and practiced law in the Atlanta area for 15 years before going into the family business.

“We produced beneficial bacteria for numerous applications (at Osprey Biotechnics),” she explained. “I sold the business, so now I’m retired.”

Danielson lives in Bradenton and in Ocala, where her 36-acre farm is located. It includes two barns with a total of 25 stalls.

“It’s a beautiful set up,” she said. “We have broodmares and yearlings at the farm right now. Our first crop of babies will come in 2022.” Danielson has two children – a daughter, Anya Danielson, who is also involved with horses; and a son, who does not ride.

“I also have a 7-year-old grand-daughter who hopefully will start riding with us soon,” she said.

Lauren says she has loved horses for as long as she can remember. She got her first horse at age 11 and started showing in 4-H. As an adult, she competed with APHA horses and then transitioned over to AQHA.

Anya Danielson and Onn Cloud Nine

In addition to Outlaw Enterprise, the Danielsons own Onn Cloud Nine, a 2016 chestnut gelding by Iron Enterprise out of A Walk In The Sky. Anya rode the 2018 Congress Masters Hunter Under Saddle Champion to a win in the Level 1 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle at the 2020 AQHA World Show. She won the Level 1 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle at the Tom Powers Futurity and a Circuit Championship in Level 1 Amateur Hunter Under Saddle at the Sudden Impulse Futurity. They just won a Reserve Congress Championship in Level 1 Hunter Under Saddle at the Quarter Horse Congress last month as well.

Anya’s Maturity Western Pleasure horse is Made U Want Me, sired by Machine Made. He has numerous futurity wins and circuit championships to his credit and last year Anya rode him to a third place finish in Novice Western Pleasure at the AQHA World Championship Show.

Swagger Machine is Anya’s up-and-coming Western horse. The 2019 sorrel gelding by Machine Made won both the Breeders Championship Futurity 2-Year-Old Intermediate Open Western Pleasure and the 2-Year-Old Intermediate Open Western Pleasure at the 2021 NSBA World Show. They also just placed sixth in the 2-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure Stakes Class at the 2021 Congress and fifth in the Limited Division.

“We also have a nice up-and-coming 3-year-old Hunter Under Saddle contender, Walk N After Midnite, out of the same mare as A Walk In the Sky, by Good Better Best,” Lauren said. “Plus, we own Selffmade, a yearling gelding by Iron Enterprise.”

Swagger Machine & Mark Zeitler

For now, Lauren says Anya is the rider but she is working on a plan to get back into the show pen and when the time comes, she has Live N It Up, a 2015 bay gelding by Red White N Good, to help her get there.

Rounding out the list of horses Lauren and Anya own are: Kiss Ya Later Boys, a yearling filly by Kissin the Boys out of Nice Asset (by A Sudden Impulse); A Good Celebration (by A Good Machine), currently in foal to Lazy Loper (and Lauren’s horse to ride at home); Only Shades of Grey, a big gray mare by One N Only and out of Big I Am (a Thoroughbred mare) in foal to Outlaw Enterprise; one other broodmare and a 3-year-old gelding by Too Sleepy To Zip.

“We want to have fun, hopefully do well, and strive to improve our abilities,” Lauren said.

The Zeitlers are there to make all of that happen.

“Judy and Mark are the most dedicated, talented and supportive trainers, who have made our dreams come true,” Lauren said. “It is a special treat to be a part of their program. They have a great eye for buying horses and they are exceptional in their training.”

Lauren also credits Krystle Kruse and Madison Dahl, members the Zeitler team, with their success.
“They work very hard and are also exceptional,” she said. “The other Zeitler customers add to the experience as well. We just have a great group. Everyone supports everyone else. We love this atmosphere, have made many wonderful friends and really enjoy showing and hanging out together.”
