APHA Standing Committee

standingcomm15-fbMember appointments to APHA’s Standing Committee rosters for 2015 have been made, and the 12 committees are already hard at work. Comprised of APHA members from around the United States, as well as international affiliates, APHA’s standing committees serve as advisory groups for association rules and planning, in keeping with the association’s mission of promoting the Paint Horse breed.

Standing committees host live and virtual meetings throughout the year to discuss issues pertinent to their areas of focus—including use of conference calls, social media meetings and more. They also meet during the annual APHA Convention, which takes place in February. APHA members are encouraged to contact standing committee members with ideas and comments throughout the year; committee members’ contact information is available at apha.com/association/directors.APHA President Ron Shelly recognizes the value of APHA’s standing committees and is excited about the support they’ll provide to APHA as a whole.

“I am excited about the association’s momentum coming out of our 2015 Convention that will carryover into what I know will be some outstanding work by our committees throughout 2015,” he said. “By providing some guidance on priorities to each committee, we hope to create alignment of our worldwide activities in support of APHA’s Strategic Plan as well as our APHA mission.

“The work of the committees is extremely important to the success of APHA. I personally appreciate each member’s participation in their respective committee’s activities.”
