A total of $20,000 will be available in 2016 for Paint Horses competing at both the APHA World Championship Show and the Breeders Halter Futurity, thanks to a new partnership between APHA and the premier halter competition.
The additional bonus money will be paid to weanling foals that show in the 2016 Breeders Halter Futurity and also show in one of the following Amateur weanling halter classes at the 2016 APHA World Championship Show.
- Amateur Weanling Stallions
- Amateur Weanling Mares
- Amateur Weanling Geldings
- Amateur Solid Paint-Bred Weanling Stallions & Geldings
- Amateur Solid Paint-Bred Weanling Mares
The $20,000 bonus—contributed equally by APHA and the Breeders Halter Futurity—will be paid at the APHA World Championship show, based on final placings at that competition; exact payout distribution will be announced at a later date.
“This is a way to bring more value to Paint halter horses through partnership. It’s unique, forward thinking and the way equine organizations need to collaborate,” APHA Executive Director Billy Smith said.
