ApPHA Teams with InStride Edition

ApPHA Magazine picA partnership between InStride Edition magazine and the Appaloosa Pleasure Horse Association has been formed to help promote Appaloosa pleasure horses and the association’s events and programs.

“We’re excited to have a magazine like InStride take an interest in what we are trying to do for the pleasure horse,” says Tim Zuidema,  a spokesman for the ApPHA. “It’s a really good venue for the Appaloosa breed that has been around a long time and really awards some great prizes. Like anything else, every once in a while it needs a boost to rejuvenate. We feel like InStride is a great way to start that process. Our participation is already pretty strong. What we want to do now is get the word out to the entire pleasure horse industry, not just within the ApHC (Appaloosa Horse Club). InStride can do that for us, and were really proud to have the Borton family be a part of it.”

Under the agreement, InStride Edition will dedicate a section of pages to the ApPHA each month for stories about the association’s people, programs and events.  Members will receive InStride Edition each month as part of their membership benefits and the magazine will help promote the group’s shows and other events.

“We are flattered that the ApPHA has selected InStride Edition as its official publication,” said Publisher Brad Borton. “Since launching our magazine last June, our commitment has been to producing the highest quality reporting, writing and photography and illustration in the show industry and I think a partnership with the ApPHA makes perfect sense. The association’s leaders are innovators dedicated to finding ways to promote the Appaloosa pleasure horse and this partnership will help achieve that.

The association’s partnership with the monthly print magazine and its digital counterpart (www.instrideedition.com) will provide the perfect vehicle for stallion owners, trainers, owners and exhibitors to target their specific market since the print magazine is being mailed to the homes of all members and ApHC judges as well as distributed in mass at ApHC and other major pleasure events.

The Appaloosa Pleasure Horse Association was established as an affiliate of the ApHC in 1986. The group wanted to find ways increase the interest in pleasure horses among the younger horsemen and encourage the use of standard rules for holding and judging contests of pleasure horses. Today, the mission of the association also includes a commitment to define, promote and improve the quality of pleasure horses: to promote exhibits, events and contests in expositions and shows; to increase purses and create a marketplace for young horses by a unified group. Each year the association strives to award more money and more prizes and to date has awarded more than $100,000,000 in cash and prizes through its programs and events. The ApPHA awards saddles, horse trailers, buckles and other fine prizes to winners at its events. The ApPHC has developed a number of very successful programs including a Trainer Sale, Select Stallion Service and Mare Incentive Fund. In the coming months, these programs will be featured inside the pages of InStride Edition and you can find out more about the programs or how to join by visiting www.appha.com.
