AQHA and NSBA competitor Jaida Dreyer was the winner of the Nov. 28 episode of Real Country, USA Network’s new country-themed reality singing competition.

In each hour-long episode, Shania Twain, Jake Owen and Travis Tritt hand-select emerging solo artists, duos and groups to perform in showcases that spotlight the rich traditions, songs and themes of specific country genres.

Dreyer was from Owen’s team and performed “Fancy” by Bobbie Gentry, and Hank Snow’s “Ive Been Everywhere.”

“This show is called ‘Real Country’ and that’s exactly what that is right there,” Owen said of Dryer’s performance. “It’s your style, your authenticity that shines through. I’m so excited for everybody here to see more of what you’re about to do.”

Winning the final round with a total of 4.7 stars from the studio audience, she emerged as the winner of the final round. This resulted in her getting $10,000 and a performance at Stagecoach, California’s Country Music Festival. She also advances to the grand finale of the show, where she stands the chance of winning $100,000 and a performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

“To the folks who just met me for the first time last night, to the lovers of the songs I’ve written over the years, to the Nashville songwriting community that taught me to write better songs, to the true believers who’ve been rooting for me in the wings since I first moved to town, thank you,” she said. “I’m so overwhelmed with love and gratitude right now.”
