The AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Council raised $10,900 for the AQHA Processional Horsemen’s Crisis Fundthrough an online auction that took place during the 2016 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show.
The highest selling item, a breeding to Allocate Your Assets, which was donated by Searles Ranch and Katherine K. Tobin, sold for $2,000.There were a total of 40 items submitted to the auction, ranging from tack and apparel, jewelry, lessons and educational material, breedings to top stallions and more.
In addition to the online auction, with the help of AQHA Corporate Partner Nutrena, $2,500 was also raised for the Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund at the Nutrena Ride the Pattern clinics at this year’s Lucas Oil World. AQHA Professional Horsemen collected donations at each of the clinics and Nutrena matched the donations raised at the show.
The Professional Horsemen’s Council held other events to raise money and awareness for the AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund. AQHA world champion In Like Flinn sponsored the first AQHA Professional Horsemen’s day at the 2016 Lucas Oil World, and during Team Wrangler night, a relay race was held and raised $1,600 for the crisis fund.
The AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Crisis Fund provides assistance to AQHA Professional Horsemen who have suffered sudden and demonstrable hardship or disaster of a severe and unexpected nature or from serious physical illness.
