Brian Baker, of Sunbury, Ohio, rode KM Call Me Honey to a win in Sunday’s featured event – the Maturity $10,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure – at the Fun In The Sun show in Venice, Florida, earning $1,750 for owners Theresa and Kerry Love, Westminster, Maryland.
The two-day inaugural event featured 68 classes, many sanctioned by the National Snaffle Bit Association, at scenic Fox Lea Farm. Sunday’s action got underway with Showmanship, Western Riding and more Western Pleasure, including the $5000 NSBA Maturity $10,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure, followed by Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle and over fences classes.
Judges for the event, which drew a total of just over 250 entries, were John Boxell and Randy Wilson.
Show organizer Dean Bogart said she was “pleased with the turnout” and hopes to make the Fun In The Show a regular event.
After a day off on Monday competition begins in the Fox Lea Winter AQHA Circuit and continues through Sunday.
