The Ohio Quarter Horse Association and Mike and Stephanie Jennings of Professional Horse Services, LLC are inviting owners of Paint, Appaloosas and color breed horses to sell in the 49th Annual Congress Super Sale, to be held on SATURDAY, October 17. The entry deadline is August 14, or until the auction fills.
According to Mike Jennings “With the number of Color Breed and Open classes at the Congress we want to help sellers market the color breed horses to the diverse crowd of buyers that attend every year. We are glad to include these horses in the Best Show Horse Auction in America for Quarter Horses.”
Early entries include EMERALD SELECTION, the dam of DUNIT ON THE RANGE, AQHA World Champion, NSBA $20,016, bred to VS FLATLINE, from Bill Rinzema and MOONLIGHT MADE OVER, a show horse and full Sister to ONLY IN THE MOONLITE, from Todd Powers, Agent.
Consignors that will be offering horses in the 2015 Congress Super Sale include: Cedar Creek Quarter Horses, LLC, Gary Trubee, Manager, the 2014 Leading Consignor; Richland Ranch, John & Sondra Narmont, John Boxell, Manager; North Farm, LLC, Debbi Trubee & Roger Landis; Leeman Farm ; Jerry Powers Quarter Horses; Jason Ducharme Horse Co.; Jerry Bunn and more.
The Congress Super Sale gives sellers the opportunity to offer their horses to the largest crowd of potential buyers anywhere in the United Sates. Jennings adds “The Congress Super Sale has posted completed sales of around 85% over the last several years, which is an excellent percentage sold, even in a strong economy. The 2014 average price of $6,840 was 21.73% higher than the 2013 average price of $5,619. The price of the high seller, at $55,000, improved by 66% over the 2013 high seller at $33,000. The top 25 horses posted an average price of $14,980.”
This auction has always been the best auction for show horses and prospects in the Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and All-Around markets. The 2014 High Seller, at $55,000, was Im Fancy Schmancy, a 2013 brown filly, sired by Batt Man and out of Ima Fancy Version. The filly was consigned by Cool Winds Farm, Agent for Kimberly Haines, Ohio, and sold to Jeri Lockwood from Colorado. Tom Forehand was the agent for the buyer.
Buyers will not find a better selection of show horses and prospects offered in one auction. Many top horses will be available in one place to inspect, try-out and purchase.
OQHA and Pro Horse Services are working together in order to provide a great venue for sellers and buyers alike. The sale will be held in the Lausche Building on the Ohio Expo Center Fairground at 10:00 am. Prior to the sale, horses will be demonstrated on Friday, October 16 starting at 12:00 p.m. The Congress Super Sale and the preview will also be webcast live via www.ProHorseServices.com
