The Virginia Quarter Horse Association lost a champion today as Dave Higgins passed away due to complications stemming from surgery following a car accident he was in on his way home from the Virginia Classic last weekend. 

Higgins has been involved with showing Quarter Horses, mainly in Halter and Longe Line events. He has been a long-time dedicated servant to the Virginia Quarter Horse Association. 
“The world has lost a truly amazing man,”  Jamie Hylton expressed on her Facebook page. “Dave Higgins was a great man, he did so much for the industry and the shows will never be the same.”
