Daniel “DJ” Beam captured his second straight World Championship title in Open Longe Line on Wednesday at the 2022 Palomino World Show in Springfield, Illinois. Beam, a professional trainer from Palmyra, Indiana, showed Invested Mechanic, sired by Mechanic and out of Reinvest In The West, to claim victory in the 10-entry class. He won last year with Invested Mechanic’s full sister, Invest In A Mechanic.

“She (Invested Mechanic) is a very personable filly,” he said. “And she’s easy to work with.”

Beam started the filly, owned by Vicki Coffman, of Columbus, Indiana, as a weanling and since March has just worked with her a couple of times a week for just a few minutes.

“She is a natural and doesn’t take a lot of preparation,” he explained.

Beam is a big fan of the Longe Line class and he says he has won the event at the Palomino World Show eight or nine times now.

Invested Mechanic is scheduled to show in Indiana in August and will then compete at the Go For The Gold Futurity. After that, she will start longing under saddle, ground driving and will be started lightly under saddle later in the year.

“Our long-term plan is to come back here next year to show in the 2-Year-Old Snaffle Bit Western Pleasure,” Beam said.
