There’s nothing like a break between Thanksgiving and Christmas for a horse show as exhibitors found this week at the Georgia Classic Quarter Horse Show Circuit, in Perry. This year’s show is being held in conjunction with the National Snaffle Bit Association’s Rider’s Cup. Action got under way on Wednesday and competition continues through Sunday. A full slate of AQHA classes include Halter, Showmanship, Horsemanship Western Pleasure, Trail, Western Riding, Hunter Under Saddle, Ranch classes and speed events. Judging this year’s AQHA classes were: Judges are: Sissy Anderson, Valerie Kearns, Jonathan Meilleur, Jon Barry, Chad Evans and Kelly McDowall. The NSBA Riders Cup event paid more than $33,000 to horse owners and trainers in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation and Trail classes held Wednesday through Friday. Purses for the Rider’s Cup are funded through participant nominations. Judges for the Riders Cup classes were: Brett Clark, Rhonda Replogle and Cynthia Rucker.
