The second leg of the newly combined Horseman’s Stock Show and GQHA Pro-Am got underway today at the International Horse Park in scenic Conyers, Georgia.
The weather was picture perfect as exhibitors took to the outdoor pens for Western Riding this afternoon. The show, which began with the Horseman’s Stock Show on April 7th has drawn exhibitors from as far away as Texas and Ohio who were trying to escape the frozen temperatures for a sunnier southern climate.
“This is the first time we’ve been here for this show,” said Brian Cox of Zanesville, Ohio. “The weather has been near perfect and I’ve been calling everyone back home to brag a little. The number and competition have been great too, we will definitely be back.”
The new combined show format has been a huge success for the hosting associations and they are already looking forward to what they can make better for next year.
The feature event is the Kim Rich Memorial Green Western Pleasure which will be held Saturday afternoon to honor the memory of respected horsewoman Kim Rich of Panama City, Florida. The Fifth Annual Kim Rich Memorial Green Western Pleasure Class was established in 2014 by Jan Sheppard Pittman, one of Kim’s closest friends following her untimely death on Sept. 29, 2013. We will be LIVE via our Facebook page for the class.
