Higganum, Connecticut trainer Whitney Legace and Hot Rockin Potential were presented with a beautiful Harris show saddle for their win Saturday night in the Harris Versatility Challenge, held during the Virginia Classic Quarter Horse Show Circuit in Lexington, Virginia.
Hot Rockin Potential, a 2005 sorrel gelding by HH Red Rock and out of EBG Potential Hobby (by Potential Investment), is owned by Elizabeth S. Rinder of Durham, Connecticut. In 2010 Hot Rockin Potential won the Junior Trail at the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship Show.
Four teams competed in three events – a Challenge Trail, Challenge Western Riding and Challenge Western Pleasure over the first three days of the circuit.
The winner of the Versatility Challenge was named just before the presentation of the evening’s featured event on Saturday – the Hylton Maiden Western Pleasure.
Phil Harris and his wife, Phyllis were on hand for the presentation of the saddle to Legace and Hot Rockin Potential for being the highest placing team in the three events.
Erin Mask, of Newnan, Georgia, and RR All In, won a $1,000 bonus for being the highest placing non-pro exhibitor in the class.
