Funeral services are pending for noted halter trainer Jack Brizendine, who died November 30.
Jack showed in AQHA competition since 1971, starting in working cow horse, reining, western riding and western pleasure. In the last several years, Jack has been known for his success in halter, leading such greats as My Tru Luv.
Jack trained or sold 22 world champions. He earned seven world championships in three breeds.
Since 1994, when AQHA started keeping records, Jack earned 9,830 points and 7,150 wins.
Jack was also a breeder of American Quarter Horses, earning his 10-year cumulative breeder award in 2003.
The longtime AQHA Professional Horseman was known for his willingness to share his knowledge and contributed several training articles to The American Quarter Horse Journal.
In 2014, the AQHA Professional Horsemen’s Council recognized Jack with a lifetime achievement award.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela, and their four children, Jared, Chad, Brittany and Sean.
