The Dark ImpulseThe beautiful 2014 brown mare The Dark Impulse by RL Best Of Sudden and out of Dark Jasmine who just won the prestigious Hylton Maiden 3-Year-Old and Over Western Pleasure has been purchased by Joanie Zelnio of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Steve Reams will show The Dark Impulse for the final time this Friday at The Madness in Wilmington, Ohio in the 3-Year-Old and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure before handing over the reins to Zelnio.

Joanie, who shows under the guidance of Gil Galyean Quarter Horses, will begin competing aboard “Joy” in Amateur Select Western Pleasure classes along with Galyean in Open events.

“We really appreciate Steve and Jennifer Reams along with former owner, Susan Simms, for allowing us to purchase ‘Joy’,” Galyean said. “We believe this to to be a very special horse, she demonstrates the beauty and effortless movement that is so hard to find.”

The Hylton Maiden took place last month and The Dark Impulse bested a field of 18 to take home the championship title and a check for $25,000.

“She’s a very special daughter of Dark Jasmine. Donnie and Taft Dickerson started her and put a lot of time in on her before I got her,” said Steve Reams following the class. “She’s just so pretty on the rail.”
