Waco, Texas was the place to be this weekend for the 2014 Texas Appaloosa Horse Club Bluebonnet Horse Show. Exhibitors came from as far west as California and all the way from Minnesota to show this weekend. The Bluebonnet Appaloosa Show offered classes from roping to stump races, keyhole to western pleasure, trail, english and jumping. This show had something for everyone. The classes were big, the Extraco Event Center was great and the weather was perfect, what more could you ask for? With 620 entries, 200 stalls sold and a 7:30 am start time the show management was great about keeping the classes moving throughout the day. The Senior Trail was the biggest class at the show with 32 entries and Lonnie Cruse with DZS Mac Dandy had a clean sweep on all four cards. The judges this weekend included Duke Neff, Andrea Koehn, Cindy Pence-Girardier and Linda Tedesco.

The Texas Appaloosa Horse Club definitely knows how to put on a good show that is very exhibitor friendly and always has great prizes. An exhibitor’s pizza party was held Saturday night which was a great way for everyone to unwind, relax and visit with friends after a busy day of showing.

“It’s definitely a show I will come back to next year, the entries are great and the show staff goes above and beyond to make sure the exhibitors are happy at all times, ” says Courtney Radcliff.

The class to watch was the 3-Year-Old Western Pleasure with five strong, talented horses showing the big winners were Dave Archer aboard Laced By Chocolate , Colt Andrews with Choc Out My Asset, and Lisa Ligon showing Two Timin Chip.

“As a trainer it’s a great show to bring our clients to that are needing to get qualified for the World Show because the class sizes are big enough for everyone to get points,” says Dave Archer.

The vote is in and the Bluebonnet Appaloosa Show gets two thumbs up from both exhibitors and spectators. Happy riders, happy horses and happy trainers always make for a great horse show so everyone mark your calendars for the 2015 Bluebonnet Appaloosa Show in Waco, Texas.
