The Kentucky Quarter Horse Association (KyQHA) has announced an exciting new opportunity for exhibitors of horses enrolled in KyQHA’s Breeders’ Incentive Fund (BIF) to earn additional money. The new program, called the “KyQHA BIF Premium Series,” will pay a total of $25,000 to nominated BIF horses that compete successfully in one or more of four weekend AQHA events sponsored by the KyQHA during 2014.
Qualifying events, all of which are at the Casey County Ag Expo Center in Liberty, Kentucky, include the “Bluegrass Bonanza,” May 16-18; the “Summer Spectacular,” June 13-15; the “Last Chance Rally,” July 25-27; and “The Kentucky Futurities,” over the Labor Day weekend, August 30 to September 1. These four official AQHA event weekends, with 4 shows per weekend, offer exhibitors the chance to show to a maximum of 16 AQHA judges for the BIF Premium Series.
Chuck Givens, Series Coordinator, says there is no secret about why a new BIF Premium Series is being launched this year by the Association:
“We have always sought to reward the owners of KyQHA BIF horses, regardless of where they competed, but our specific goal here is to offer exhibitors an additional reason to participate in our Kentucky events. We believe our 2014 summer shows schedule is our best ever, and, of course, every event will feature our popular $150 All-Inclusive Entry Package. KyQHA has developed this new program to encourage more exhibitors and entries here in Kentucky.”
Payouts for the new BIF Premium Series will be based on the ‘KyQHA show points’ as used for year-end awards, not AQHA points. All such points earned by eligible horses to a cap of 500 – each of which will earn a premium – will be used to calculate rewards after the show season. The Series is strictly limited to verified KyQHA BIF horses which are nominated for a single fee of $100. Participants must enroll in the KyQHA Year-End Awards Program which has no nomination fee, thus is a bonus program for all BIF Premium Series participants. Nominations can be made any time, but eligible points will accumulate only after the date of nomination. For all program details, click on the KyQHA BIF Premium Series.
