Congress and AQHA World Champion and leading Hunter Under Saddle sire, Hot N Blazing, has passed, according to his owner Courtney Battison.
“Hot N Blazing was laid to rest at my ranch,” said Battison. “He lived a wonderful 22 years and I am lucky to have loved and had him for 18 years.”
Hot N Blazing, a 1997 brown stallion by Blazing Hot and out of Zippos Baby Jane, was an AQHA World Champion and Quarter Horse Congress Champion in Junior Hunter Under Saddle, an AQHA Reserve World Champion in Junior Western Riding, a three-time Congress Champion in Hunter Under Saddle and Western Riding and a two-time Reserve Congress Champion. Bred by Donald Lee Roark, Edmond, Oklahoma, Hot N Blazing was purchased by Battison in 2001 and he remained under her loving care for the rest of his life.
But his real accomplishments came as a sire. Hot N Blazing offspring have earned eight Open, 12 Amateur and four Youth AQHA World Championship titles and 10 Open, 15 Amateur and 10 Youth AQHA Reserve World Championships. He is also the sire of 107 Congress Champions and Reserve Champions.
Some of his most notable offspring include Look N Hott, a five-time AQHA World Champion, two-time AQHA Reserve World Champion, eight-time Congress Champion and five-time Congress Reserve Champion in Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation.
Congress and AQHA World Champion, The Heat Seeker; One Hot Kat was also both a multiple AQHA World and Congress Champion; and Cowboys R Hot was a multiple Congress and AQHYA World Champion with lifetime earnings over $21,000; as well as NSBA World Champion Like A Boss.
In all, Hot N Blazing’s foals have earned over 25,000 AQHA points and recorded over $778,000 in National Snaffle Bit Association earnings; $118,024 AQHA World Show earnings; and $1,209,244 in total AQHA earnings.
Hot N Blazing was an AQHA and NSBA All Time Leading Sire of Hunter Under Saddle Sire in Open, Amateur and Youth divisions.
