APHA’s Paint Horse Championship program is back for 2019 and already approved for a few events this year—the first of which is the Northeast Paint Horse Championship Show taking place at the Mid-Atlantic Paint Classic Show held May 11-12 in Culpeper, Virginia.APHA is sponsoring awards for each Paint Horse Championship show, consisting of beautiful Gist Silversmiths buckles for first place and medallions for second- through sixth-place in each event.2019 Northeast Paint Horse Championship events include:
- Open Halter Mares
- Open Performance Halter Mares
- Open Performance Halter Geldings
- Youth Showmanship 18 & Under
- Youth Hunter Under Saddle 18 & Under
- Youth Horsemanship 18 & Under
- Amateur Showmanship All Ages
- Amateur Solid Paint-Bred Showmanship All Ages
- Amateur Hunter Under Saddle Ages
- Amateur Horsemanship All Ages
- Amateur Walk-Trot Western Pleasure
- Open Trail
- Open Ranch Rail Pleasure
- Open Solid Paint-Bred Ranch Rail Pleasure
- Open Ranch Riding
In 2019, to be eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship halter class in any division, an exhibitor cannot have placed in the Top Five in a halter class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship halter class the previous year.
For performance classes, an exhibitor who has placed in the Top 10 in a performance class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship performance class the previous year is not eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship performance class in any division.For more information regarding this upcoming event, please visit virginiapainthorseclub.org.View the full 2019 Paint Horse Championship Criteria.
