Pretty Assets wins Non-Pro English Longe Line at the Congress

HUS NP LL WinnerAmy Brosch of Sorrento, Florida showed Pretty Assets to a win today in the Non-Pro English Longe Line at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.

“I am so excited,” Brosch said after the class was pinned. “There were so many good horses here tonight.”

Pretty Assets, a 2013 bay mare, is sired by Allocate Your Assets and is out of Reserve World Champion Amateur Hunter Under Saddle mare Art I Pretty (by Art I Sweet). She bested 11 other entries, earning $1,202.58 for her win in the class.

“I bought this filly’s dam in foal so I raised her,” Brosch said. “I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

On The LineKathie Kennedy, of Ocala, Florida, trained Pretty Assets and coached Brosch to her win.

“She is just such a great loper,” she said as the winner was announced. “I am so proud of them. I told Amy they looked great.”

Adria Smith, of Allen, Texas, and Allocate These Irons were Reserve Champions in the class.

Just before the English Longe Line got started Ava Lynn Coughlin, of London, Ohio, was named Champion of the Small Fry Western Pleasure Class aboard Divas Invitation, a 2006 chestnut mare by Willy Be Invited and out of Zips Earth Angel. A total of 38 youngsters competed this year in the class. Reserve Champion went to Chloe Smith and Suddenly Moonlight. Ava also won the Small Fry Horsemanship on Saturday, October 11th.

Small Fry Pleasure WinnerCompetition got started in the Coliseum early Sunday morning with Halter Mares competition.

Dewey Smith showed PF Thatsmschrometou, owned by Chester Prince, to a win in the Open Division of the Weanling Fillies Class of 17 while Justin Bisel showed Sheza Starlet to a win in the Limited Division for owner Marilee Montgomery.

Tom Robertson led My Girl to victory in the 21-entry Open Division of the Yearling Fillies class for Kimberly Hughes. The Limited Division saw My Ohhh My walk away with a win with Monte Horn showing for William and Felicia Ware.

Suzanne Kiser’s Best Dawn Yet won the Open Division of the 2-Year-Old Mares Class of 12 with Gene Parker on the shank. Todd Grant and Cheerz won the Limited Division for owner Angie Watts Schmeck.

Performance Halter Mares WinnerRoss Roark showed Giancarla, owned by Vern Habighorst, to a win in the Open Division of the 3-Year-Old Mares in a tough classs of nine. Monte Horn and Candys Mirror Image were Champions in the Limited Division. She is owned by Carolyn Stewart.

Top honors in the 13-entry Open Division of the Aged Mares Class went to Exceptional Playgirl, owned by Frand Berris nd shown by Ross Roark. Tim Finkenbinder and Don’t Stare, owned by Kelli Jensen, won the Limited Division.

The biggest mare class was Performance Halter Mares with 25 competing. Most Appealing, owned by Andrea Alderson and shown by Randy Alderson won the Open Division while Gretchen Mathes showed Fantastic Invitation to victory for owner Lauren Radd in the Limited Division.

Grand Champion Mare honors went to Exceptional Playgirl and Giancarla was Reserve Champion Mare.
