Randy Wilson wins Hylton Maiden aboard Certainly On Sundi

Judges lineupRandy Wilson rode Certainly On Sundi to a win tonight in the Hylton Maiden Western Pleasure Class, earning a check for $31,875 in a tough class of 20 entries held at the Virginia Classic in Lexington, Virginia.

The 2011 bay stallion, is sired by Certain Potential and out of Invite Me On Sundi, a mare Wilson also showed, and is owned by Byron Parsons of Chico, California.

“He did his job” Wilson said after accepting his check. “He’s just a great athlete. It was like training his mom.”

Wilson said the colt was born late so they saved him specifically for this event.

“It’s nice when the horse is your buddy and he is my buddy,” he said.

There was a tie for Reserve between Brian Baker riding Mr Sherlock Holmes and Jeff Cochran riding Bettin Ona Krymsun. They both take home a check for $9,887.50.

Mr Sherlock Holmes is owned by Mary Webre, of Hempsted, Texas. The 2001 sorrel stallion is sired by Zippos Mr Good Bar and out of out of Don’t Skip Krymsun,

Bettin Ona Krymsun, a 2011 black gelding by One Hot Krymsun out of Ona Impulse, is owned by Becky Bailey, Batavia, Ohio. Cochran also earns a $6,000 bonus for being the highest placing Intermediate rider in the class.

Baker says he is excited to have the opportunity to ride such a talented and trainable individual.

“He is very gentle, for a stallion, and good to be around,” says Baker.

Randy WinOnce he completes a successful show career Webre plans to retire him to her Hempsted, Texas farm where he will stand at stud. He will join a list of superior performance stallions standing to the public, including Admit It Im Good, Imcrusininahotrod and Allured To Chocolate.

Blake Britton of Delta, Ohio earned a $4,000 bonus for being the highest placing Limited Rider. He showed The Only Leadin Lady, a 2011 brown mare, by Only In The Moonlite out of Leaguers Leadin Lady, owned by Todd Yoder, to a ninth place in the class.

This marks the fifth year the class has been featured at the Virginia Classic. A total of $87,500 was awarded this year. A $6,000 bonus was awarded to the highest placing Intermediate rider and a $4,000 bonus to the highest placing limited rider.

Other placings are:

4th – $6,000 – Just Roll With It, 2011 bay gelding by Certain Potential out of Zipped Tight, owned by Jenny Hodgson Van Eaton, Bennington, Kansas, ridden by Rusty Green, Pilot Point, Texas.

5th/6th tie – $4,506.25 – Suddenly Extreme, 2011 chestnut stallion by Extremely Hot Chips out of RL Saved By Impulse, owned by Nick Weiss, Johnston, Iowa, ridden by Andy Cochran, Aubrey, Texas and Gettin Pretty, 2011 chestnut mare, by Gettin Impulsive out of Huntin A Boss Lady, owned by Lara Yungclas, Marengo, Iowa, ridden by Taft Dickerson, Mount Airy, North Carolina.

7th – $3,650 – A Hot Lopin Machine, 2011 bay gelding by A Good Machine out of Hot Lopin Louise, owned by Susan Johns, Paradise Valley, Arizona, ridden by Jay Starnes, Summerton, South Carolina.

Tie 2nd8th – $2,875 – I Only Accept Chex, 2011 sorrel mare, by Only In The Moonlite out of Radical Louise, owned by Mallory Menard, Highland, Michigan, shown by Angie Cannizzaro, Purcell, Oklahoma. Cannizzaro also won a vest from Horse Show Closet for being the highest placing woman in the class.

9th -$2,350 (plus $6,000 Limited bonus) – The Only Leadin Lady, 2011 brown mare, by Only In The Moonlite out of Leaguers Leadin Lady, owned by Todd Yoder, Delta, Ohio, ridden by Blake Britton, Delta, Ohio.

10th – $1,962 – Won Hot Cowgirl, 2009 sorrel mare by One Hot Krymsun out of Huntin A Cowboy, owned by Stanley & Susan Scott, Ocala, Florida, ridden by Josh Robertson, Reddick, Florida.
