Reserve Congress Champion Mr Freeze sold to Leavell Family

Aden Cochran and Mr Freeze

Reserve World and Congress Champion Mr Freeze (Sheldon) has been sold to The Leavell Family of Louisville, Kentucky, and will be under the guidance of Josh Faulkner Show Horses. The 2015 bay gelding by Batt Man and out of Only A Summer Breeze is no stranger to the winner’s circle having won an American Quarter Horse Youth Association (AQHYA) Reserve World Championship in Level 2 Western Pleasure, a Bronze Globe in Level 3 Youth Western Pleasure 14-18 and two National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) Reserve World Championships as well as a Reserve Congress Championship in 12-14 Western Pleasure in 2022 with Aden Cochran and an AQHA Reserve Level 2 title with Katie Cochran.

Faulkner has always known Mr Freeze has the talent to be a champion.

“I’ve liked Mr Freeze for a few years now from the time he showed as a Green horse up to all of his success this year,” Faulkner said. “He always seems so consistent and honest. Throughout his career he has always been with people I admire, and have learned from so I know I can ride behind them to provide an easy transition.”

Mr Freeze with Shane Leavell

For the past year Mr Freeze has been under the guidance of Andy Cochran, with Capital Quarter Horses in Pilot Point, Texas. Andy’s wife, Katie and son, Aden have had great success with him and Katie particularly felt he was an excellent fit to carry Aden on to the next level of his youth career since purchasing him from breeders Lee and Brenda Looney.

“Aden and Sheldon instantly got a long they were the perfect match. Aden had not had much show experience so we were looking for a horse to give him confidence in the pen. Sheldon did all of that and more. I still have the video on my phone of their first ride together at the farm. Kelby and Kaitlin Hutchinson did an excellent job creating this team” Katie said. “Andy, Aden and I are so excited for Sheldon to go to a great home and family. He is such a great show partner to learn and teach a kid all the fundamentals. We hope they have great success and lots of wins!”

Mr Freeze will make the move to Kentucky following the AQHA World Show this month where he will continue his show career with Shane, Alexander and Liam Leavell.

“Our plan is for Shane to show Mr Freeze in the Level 2 Amateur Western Pleasure and the boys will show him in the 13&Under Western Pleasure,” Faulkner explained. “We are so excited to have Mr Freeze in the barn and we can’t thank The Cochrans enough for helping put this team together.”
