Show For DoughThe slogan is “All money all the time” so competitors gathered in Tunica, Mississippi this weekend will get back 100 percent of the entry fees in the 103 classes being offered at the five-day event and they will get their checks before they leave the grounds.

Organizers Charles Cannizzaro, Dave Dellin and Brad Jewell want to promote interest in the show horse by creating an atmosphere that incorporates an enjoyable show schedule with premium checks awarded at the show in a transparent method. Sanctioned by the National Snaffle Bit Association, Show For Dough is in its second year and although small its first year the show reports an increase in both entries and stalls rented this year.

Western Riding and Trail classes got the show started on Wednesday with Junior Western Pleasure and Maturity classes featured in the afternoon. Hunter Under Saddle, Showmanship, Horsemanship, Equitation and Riders With Disabilities classes will be featured throughout the weekend in a variety of divisions and rider categories. A $10,000 added 3-Year-Old $2,500 Limited Horse Western Pleasure class will be featured on Saturday with a $1,000 entry fee.

Thursday and Friday are devoted to Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle classes and a $2,500 Junior/Green Trail Challenge, open to horses that are 5-year-old and younger and Green eligible. Entry fee for the Friday class is $500. Trail and Western Riding continue in Arena B throughout both days.

Action continues on Saturday with Western Riding, Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle classes for the amateur and youth competitors and the 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure. The first Riders With Disabilities classes get under way later in the day and the show’s final classes on Saturday will feature Horsemanship competition. Arena B will host Trail for youth competitors and Riders With Disabilities.
