American Paint Horse exhibitors from across the country gathered in Fort Worth, Texas for the association’s annual World Championship Show. Exhibitors will compete for World Championship titles and over $900,000 in cash and prizes.

English classes kicked off the show this year and one of the first ones to trot down the middle was Keith Miller aboard A Sudden Touch. When the results were tallied they would be the newest World Champions in Green Hunter Under Saddle.

“I was really happy with my ride. When we trotted down the center I knew he was going to be a show horse today, and he definitely was. It was a lot of fun because the judges had us track to the right first, and we started at a canter. Sometimes it’s just fun to mix it up, and I really enjoyed it,” Miller said. “I knew going in that it was a class of great horses and great showmen, so I’m always just happy to get to show alongside those horses and exhibitors.”

Also up today was Junior Pleasure Driving. Scott Suggs and Guns R Good, a 2017 stallion by Double Up Investment bested the field to take the World Championship title. This is the second year in a row for Suggs to take the World title in Junior Pleasure Driving.

“Guns R Good is only a 2-year-old and a stud so that presented a bit of a challenge. He also had only been in the cart 5 times before I showed him, Suggs said. “He really showed about perfect, he got a little low once but otherwise he was great. I think he’s the first 2 yr old to ever win the driving.”
