NSBA, Congress and AQHA Level 2 Champion The Whos Who has sold to Michelle Monteith. The 2019 gelding by Machine Made and out of Whos Chasing Who already had an impressive dossier of wins including a Congress Championship in the Coughlin 2-year-old Western Pleasure with Denny Desmond and an AQHA Youth World Level 2 Championship with JR Pickard before Taft took the reins in August to pilot him to an NSBA BCF Championship. When Monteith saw him she knew he was something special.
“When I first saw Conway I was drawn to his cadence and self carriage,” said Monteith. “He is a big, pretty and stout gelding. He really had a lot of presence to look at him.”
Up until the time of the sale The Whos Who had been under the care of AQHA Professional Horsewoman Katy Jo Zuidema. Zuidema’s father, Wayne Davis owned the gelding and her son, JR Pickard was showing him in youth events.
“I owe Conway a lot. He’s been very good to my family. For a 3-year-old that big to go around and win as much as he has, he deserves all the credit and accolades in the world,” Zuidema said. “Also Taft’s dad, Donnie and my dad, Wayne are dear old friends. It’s nice to do business w Taft and know that we can trust each other and have a camaraderie. We know we can follow each other and we root for each other. It’s the best part about doing business with friends.”
The Whos Who will be under the guidance of Dickerson Show Horses in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Taft and Adrienne will show him in the Junior Western Pleasure and Monteith will show him in Novice Amateur and Novice Non-Pro classes.
“I want to thank the Zuidema and Davis families for selling Conway to me and the Dickersons for all their guidance and help,” said Monteith. “I am looking forward to getting back into the show pen after a 10 year break.”
