Tom Powers Christmas Challenge is a go; Sale postponed

The Yearling Stakes Sale at the 2020 Tom Powers Christmas Challenge in Ocala, Florida, has been postponed to a later date, it was announced today.

Organizers said the sale was postponed due to a lack of entries and that consignors will be contacted and entry fees will be refunded.

The futurity, the first event to be held at the World Equestrian Center, which is in its final phase of construction, will go on as planned Dec. 12-20.

Covid-19 protocals have also been announced. They are as follows:

Covid-19 Update

Available @ the show: Color coded wristbands to wear at all time (even when you show).

  • Green: I am ok with hugs
  • Yellow: I am good with talking but not touching
  • Red: Hi ! I am keeping my distance please respect my choice.

Also:

  • Ocala encourages but does not mandates face covering so will we.
  • Face covering will be strongly encouraged in the show office.
  • Maximum of two clients at the time in the show office (face covering will be expected).
  • Our staff in the show office will wear face covering.
  • Sanitizer will be available.
  • We will ask you to register online and make you own copies just outside the show office.
  • We will show outside as much as possible.
  • Barns have very high ceilings, large aisles and stalls with great ventilation.
  • All 80 stall barns are divided by sections of nine stalls maximum. The stalls, barns, arena and showgrounds are large and highly ventilated. It will allow everyone to practice as much social distancing as they wish.
