Vital Signs R Stable and Shane Pope take Novice Horse title

DSC_8619Shane Pope rode Vital Signs R Stable, a 2012 bay mare by Good I Will Be and out of Vital Signs Are Good, owned by Cathy Frank, to a victory tonight in the 3 & 4-Year-Old $1,000 Novice Horse Western Pleasure at A Little Futurity in Raleigh, North Carolina.

 

The win marked the first slot title for Pope in the $1,000 and under Novice Horse Slot, sponsored by Southern Oaks Farms/Peek and Virginia Owen. This year 21 horses competed for a total purse of $32,000.

 

The class actually ended in a tie between Pope aboardVital Signs R Stable and Casey Willis riding KM WeKnowShesHot, with Pope winning the tie-breaker.KM WeKnowShesHot is owned by Masterson Farms and also earned a $8,640 paycheck.

 

There was also an inside purse offered in the Novice Horse to horses that have not earned $1,000 by the start of the Little Futurity. A check for $4,800 was given to the winner, Cody Parrish riding Lexus Made Lady for Anchor Soul LLC. A trophy saddle donated by Phil Harris Leather and Silverworks was donated to the inside purse contestants and the winner was Kenny Lakins.

8th: My Daddys Lazy, owned by William & Sandy Stevenson, shown by Brian Baker

9th: The Born Legacy, owned by Alexandra Chavez, shown by Maggie Grandquist

10th: Make It Rain, owned by April Wooster, shown by Dawn Baker
