APHA Elections

0805directornominationstnAPHA recently sent nomination forms to regional clubs to begin the APHA Director election process for the 2015–2016 term. Club officers will submit your club’s endorsements for directors from your area, so be sure to contact them if you know someone who would represent your area well.

APHA members may also submit an individual nomination. Simply download a director nomination form and send it directly to APHA. Endorsements must be received by August 15.

All recommendations will be forwarded to the Director Nominating Committee for review. Balloting will begin on September 15.

All APHA members with an email address on record will receive an email from APHA with a link to your area’s director election ballot. Just click on the link, cast your vote and press the “Submit” button. Voting is open between September 15 and October 15.

“It’s that time of year again when you as an APHA member have the opportunity to make a difference,” Director of National Directors Cindy Grier said. “As we all work together to build a stronger APHA, we need leadership that is dedicated to APHA’s mission.”

APHA has about 115 national directors who are elected to represent their respective areas for a term of two years. To be eligible to serve, each nominee must reside in the representative area and be a current APHA member in good standing. Elected representatives help direct association policies through making, amending, repealing and enforcing APHA rules and regulations. To learn more, visit apha.com.
