Auctions at A Sudden Impulse Futurity feature Susan Scott’s show saddle and bits used by Carl Yamber

Susan Scott’s custom Harris saddle

Some very special auctions are being featured during the A Sudden Impulse AQHA Show and Futurity at the Word Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida on Friday, April 30.

In a live auction, to start immediately following the trailer giveaway and just prior to the finals of 3-Year-Old Maiden Limited Open Hunter Under Saddle class, in the Grand Arena, a Harris show saddle, custom-designed for the late Susan Scott, a leading American Quarter Horse Association and National Snaffle Bit Association competitor for many years, will be up for grabs. Proceeds from the sale of the saddle will be used to offset the establishment of the Susan Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund which seeks to provide educational opportunities to the next generation by rewarding community service, academics and achievement in NSBA Youth. The charitable trust, which will be administered through the NSBA Foundation, was formed with the help of Susan’s daughter, Nancy Wilkerson Ditty to preserve her mother’s legacy and inspire youth to live out the ideals that her mother held dear.

Next will be the auction of several items, the proceeds of which will benefit NSBA Quarter Million Dollar rider Trisha Yamber, wife of the late Carl Yamber, of Roberta, Georgia, who passed away in January. Carl and Trisha established CT Quarter Horses in Roberta, Georgia, a training facility that Trisha continues to operate today.

The first of these items to be auctioned is CJ, a standard male black tri Australian Shepherd, bred, raised and donated by Allison Clark McDonald, who trained with Trisha, and her husband, Kevan.

Next, a total of 23 training and show bits, many of which Carl used as he won multiple AQHA World and Congress Championships will be sold to the highest bidder.

“We wanted to offer others the opportunity to own and use some of the equipment Carl used in his training operation,” Trisha said.

Also up for grabs will be a full-page, full-color, premium position advertisement in both the print and digital editions of InStride Edition Magazine.
