Debbie Hodde, of Brenham, Texas, will roll out the newest addition to Winning Couture, her English attire-based business, specializing in custom patterned hunter shirts and collars, at the 2013 American Paint Horse Association’s World Championship Show, Nov. 6-16 in Fort Worth, Texas.

“‘The Lois’ is a 1970 Trade Wind model Airstream trailer that we purchased from Darlene Thom,” Hodde explains. “This wonderful woman also shared the life story of this trailer with us.”

The Lois was originally purchased for a family vacation travel trailer but was quickly stolen and remained “missing” for eight years. It was found when a new owner tried to register it.

The airstream was then sold to a man wanting to surprise his wife with a trip to the beach. The couple traveled in their Airstream for many years. The loving husband eventually sold the trailer to Thom for another surprise for his wife.

“Thom had the inside of the trailer stripped clean, with intentions of revamping it, but did not finish,” Hodde says. “She was kind enough to sell her trailer to me and I took it on a long journey of renovation.”

The Lois was first taken to Texas Vintage Travel Trailers of New Braunfels, Texas, where Eric Stoltz and his crew brought her to a road worthy exterior which included buffing and polishing to a mirror like finish. They also installed the new interior designed by Hodde.

The Lois was then hauled direct to The Sign Guys in Austin, Texas, where it was wrapped and branded with the Winning Couture logo.

“We are excited to make her maiden voyage to 2013 APHA World Show in Fort Worth,” Hodde says. “Stop by and take a peek at our new pride and joy.”

Winning Couture recently expanded into the western market with her new dress shirts.

“We use high end Italian cotton paired with cotton, satin, or 100 percent silk accents to individualize for each client,” she says.

Hodde plans to take Winning Couture on the road in “The Lois” in 2014.
